In 2020, GBA Heritage was commissioned by the property’s owners to undertake a thorough and detailed heritage significance assessment for their residence at Fitzwilliam Road, Vaucluse, in response to their request for a heritage listing of the property.
The Heritage Assessment required extensive historical research and a detailed site inspection of the property.
A comprehensive study of the building by GBA Heritage revealed that the main building is a relatively intact example of Federation Queen Anne architectural style, in a significant setting with extensive panoramic Harbour views.
As a result, the building has been listed as an item of local heritage significance in Schedule 5 of the Woollahra LEP 2014, being Item 724 – “Sunny Brae” – house and interiors.
