Originally conceived as a total redevelopment of two residential flat buildings, North Sydney Council placed a protective Interim Heritage Order on the 1938 Art Deco style residential building. GBA Heritage was involved in the redesign embraced by the developers to create a unique project, combining new and old architectural expressions.
In recommending this project for approval in July 2023 by the North Sydney Local Planning Panel, the officers noted “the application has been considered … as if it were a heritage item and found to be satisfactory.” The Local Planning Panel gave its unanimous support for the project.
