ICOMOS International Cultural Tourism Charter, 1999

This important professional expression of the need to carefully and cooperatively manage tourism activity at cultural heritage sites, was prepared by some 40 members of the ICOMOS International Cultural Tourism Committee, academics and practitioners, coordinated by Graham Brooks.

Major themes included managing tourism access to protect the historic site, working collaborately with the tourism sector, and ensuring local community benefit from tourism activity.
