These two large 1907 Naval Stores buildings, designed by Walter Liberty Vernon, linked together by a distinctive tower and sitting on a striking but constrained Harbourside property, are being adapted for use as Google Australia’s head office.

Given staff requirements and site limitations, a respectful addition had to be sensitively inserted between the warehouses and Jones Bay without detracting from the site’s historical and aesthetic significance, while the Vernon buildings had to be upgraded to contemporary standards without compromising their character or unique features.
